Rachel Clay of Topsfield has been named the first recipient of North Shore Community College’s newly established Lisa Milso Memorial Award, created in honor of the beloved, long-time Director of Student Life who passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve 2015. The award is presented to a student who best exemplifies Milso’s spirit of service, kindness, concern for others and leadership.
Highly involved in multiple clubs during her time at NSCC, Clay has engaged in event planning, participated in forums, served as a student voice at countless meetings, and has been an exemplary participant in campus life in general. Her nomination letter states, “(this student’s) willingness and ability to be what her clubs and organizations need her to be is amazing.”
In addition to the Lisa Milso Memorial Award, Clay received four additional service awards at NSCC’s May 5 Student Service Awards ceremony and will also receive the Lisa Milso Memorial Scholarship for the fall semester.
