North Shore Community College will hold their May Supervisors’ Connection, Effective Communication – Public Speaking, Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 8-10 a.m. at NSCC’s Corporate Training Solutions (CTS), 100 Cummings Center, Suite 121E, Beverly. Cost is $39pp and includes a continental breakfast.
The basic principles of communication are a must for all, regardless of position or profession. Effective communication and public speaking are valuable skills all should and can possess. This workshop will explore the realm of public speaking and effective presentation.
In this highly interactive workshop, you will learn:
- The importance of verbal and non-verbal cues and body language
- Strategies to face the fear of public speaking
- The effectiveness of incorporating media into your presentation
- Professional presence
Facilitated discussion led by: Colleen M. Shaughnessy Zeena, professor of English, history and women’s studies, who has been an educator, editor and lecturer in Higher Education and Corporate/Professional Training for 25 years.
