Kristine Babcock, North Shore Community College’s (NSCC) Veterans Services Coordinator, is the recipient of the prestigious Seven Seals Award from the Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense. The award recognizes her continued support of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) mission.
“The Seven Seals Award is the highest award given by ESGR to a civilian, and may be awarded to employers, volunteers and any person or organization. It was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide significant achievement, initiative or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission,” said Tom Boyle, ESGR Massachusetts Chair. “Thank you Kristine for your support of each service member who walks through your door or calls. You help them navigate an unfamiliar path and they have someone looking out for them.”
Babcock, a veteran of the US Navy, was nominated by Specialist Lisa Meucci, a soldier in the Army National Guard, who recently returned from a deployment with the 181st Engineer Company, for the “above and beyond” assistance she provided in assisting Meucci’s transfer to NSCC.
“What an honor it was for me to receive the Seven Seals Award at our Veterans Career & Benefits Fair! I was totally surprised and overwhelmed by the presentation,” Babcock said. “I am passionate about our veterans, National Guardsmen, Reservists and Active Duty members and ensuring that they get the best service possible. This recognition and award means a great deal to me!”
NSCC is a nationally designated Military Friendly School and has a long tradition of providing education and training to veterans and current members of the armed forces who are seeking to learn new skills to add to their military experience.
