North Shore Community College and Girls Inc. of Lynn are partnering to hold a free “Family Connections Night” at Girls Inc., Wednesday, June 13, 5:30-8:30 p.m. for students and their families to learn about financial literacy for teens, Early College opportunities for high school students, 0n-the Spot admissions & enrollment info to NSCC and DACA Resources.
Students and their families are invited to enjoy food, swag, and salsa dancing in addition to gaining information.
“NSCC’s Admissions and Recruitment Team has been focused on increasing our community partnerships to have a more prominent presence within the community and a more visible connection with our partners,” said Kimberly Odusami, NSCC Director of Admissions. “We want to be able to connect with more students and their families so that we help remove barriers to access to higher education.
“Sometimes, the best way to open a door is go to the students and families at a more familiar venue. College can be intimidating – especially for first generation students and families. We (NSCC) cannot expect students to come to us if they are unfamiliar with the college process and experience. This event at Girls Inc is the first of many community outreach events we will be conducting.”
NSCC will also hold an On-the-Spot Acceptance Day at Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Shop on June 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and partner with RAW Arts for an event later in the summer/early fall.
Girls Inc. is located at 50 High Street, Lynn. For questions or more information contact Gissel Lopez at email@example.com
