North Shore Community College (NSCC) will host a free public forum, Social Media: How Facebook, You Tube and Twitter are Changing Gangs, Thursday, April 28, 2-3:30 pm at NSCC’s Lynn Campus gym, 300 Broad Street.
A panel discussion will feature Lt. Peter Holey, head of the Lynn Police Department’s Youth Services Division, former gang member Francisco “Cisco” Paulino of Straight Ahead Ministries and a Harvard University Beekman Center Youth & Media project researcher. The program will be moderated by Lynn Police Chief Kevin Coppinger.
This program is made possible by the Lynn Community Safety Initiative funded by EOPSS through the Sen. Charles E. Shannon, Jr. Initiative, which supports regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through coordinated programs for prevention and intervention. These grants are included as part of the State’s resources supporting revitalization of Gateway Cities.
