North Shore Community College will hold their February Supervisors’ Connection, Making the Connection from Organization Strategy to Leadership, Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 8-10 a.m. at NSCC’s Corporate Training Solutions (CTS), 1 Ferncroft Road, DS106, Danvers. Cost is $49 per workshop.
Being strategic is critical for all levels of leadership. When leaders use strategic leadership skills, they are able to solve business challenges and make complex decisions that impact their area, stakeholders and the overall organization. Through their commitment to the organization’s mission and vision, and their ability to look beyond their own area, they are more successful in executing the organizational strategy. They see the relationship between the organizational strategy and their area, as well as the role their employees play in the larger picture. In this workshop, participants assess their strategic leadership skills, discuss development opportunities to build and improve upon existing skills, and define ways to include employees in the organizational strategy.
In this class, participants will learn to:
- Define six critical strategic leadership skills and why they are necessary in delivering and executing the mission of your organization.
- Identify ways to develop strategic leadership skills within yourself.
- Identify ways for employees to see the importance and value of their role in the organization’s mission and vision.
- Define ways for employees to build the organization’s mission into their work.
Facilitator: Virginia Maglio, MS, has expertise on all aspects of supervisory and leadership training. She works toward ensuring individuals have the skills and knowledge to support and achieve the overall goals for the business. She creates learning solutions that achieve objectives and address adult learning needs. Virginia is a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type indicator (MBTI)™ and uses it in her practice with teams and individuals. Virginia received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bridgewater State University, and a Master’s Degree in Training & Development from Lesley University.
NSCC’s Supervisors’ Connection is a give-and-take forum where supervisors and managers exchange information and ideas with colleagues from other industries.
