Dr. Walter Stone has been appointed as the new assistant dean of STEM and Education at North Shore Community College (NSCC).
In his new role, he will be responsible for oversight of the math department and the education pathway.
Prior to becoming the assistant dean, Stone was a professor in the mathematics department since 2004 and served as chair of the mathematics department from 2010-2013. An active member and contributor to NSCC’s governance structure, he served on several committees including the Coordinating Council, the Curriculum Committee and the Professional Development Committee.
A resident of Beverly, Stone holds a B.A. from Boston College, an M.S. from the University of New Hampshire and an Ed.D. from Boston University. He is a member of AMATYC (American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges) and NEMATYC (New England Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges).
