Arts in April is an annual celebration of arts and culture organized by the Arts and Culture Committee at NSCC. Faculty and staff host arts-related events on the Danvers and Lynn campuses.  Events are free and open to the public.

This exhibit features museum labels written by NSCC students. (Part of the service-learning partnership between Lynn Arts and Nicki Buscemi’s classes.)

Jay Atkinson, 2017 Visiting Writer, 9:30 am-11am and 11:00 am-12:15 pm, Danvers Campus Library
Atkinson, a local best-selling non-fiction writer, short story writer, novelist, and journalist will be reading from a variety of his works, including Massacre on the Merrimack, his gripping account of a true life captivity and revenge incident in colonial Massachusetts. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio meets with scientists, activists and world leaders to discuss the dangers of climate change and possible solutions.  Hosted by the Environmental Club.

4th Friday Movie, Tickling Giants │ Lynn Campus, LE203, 1:30-4pm
Following the Arab Spring and in need of a laugh, Dr. Bassem Youssef left his career as a heart surgeon in Cairo to try his hand at comedy. Youssef incorporated his observations from Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” into “Al Bernameg,” the first political satire show in Egypt. Thirty million viewers watched each episode.  Hosted by the Film Club
