College just got a little more affordable for three North Shore Community College (NSCC) student Veterans, thanks to the generosity of the Beverly Vietnam Veterans and the Beverly VFW Post 545.

Anthony Montenero, a Marine Corps Veteran from Everett, received the Beverly Vietnam Veterans scholarship and Tanya Lopes from Peabody, also a Marine Corps Veteran, received the Beverly VFW Post 545 Scholarship. Both scholarships were for $2000 each.  Air Force Veteran Kathleen LaBomBard from Melrose, was awarded a $500 bookstore gift card from an anonymous donor affiliated with the Beverly Vietnam Veterans and Beverly VFW Post 545.

This is the third year that NSCC student veterans have benefitted from scholarships from the Beverly Vietnam Veterans and Beverly VFW. Scholarship recipients can use the funds in whatever way they see fit, such as living expenses, transportation or tuition/fees.

“The VFW and Beverly Vietnam Veterans are an integral part of our Veterans Center here at NSCC, “said Kristine Babcock, NSCC Veteran’s Services Specialist.  “They provide peer leadership to our younger veterans and offer comradery among veterans.”
